In March 2019, BigCommerce will be making changes to Optimized One Page Checkout. To improve rendering and loading performance, we will be updating the underlying JavaScript framework from Angular to React. This update will lay the foundation for an open and customizable checkout in the future.

What does this mean?

Although we are updating the checkout from Angular to React, we are not changing the DOM structure. If you are a developer that has built store customizations or plugins that tie your integration to our DOM, you should not be affected. Specifically, if you’re checking what’s visible on the page in an interval or binding events to elements you should not be affected.

If you are a developer that has built an integration that ties into anything Angular related in the checkout, you will be impacted. Our team will take measures to minimize the impact to your integration, but we require your attention to avoid any potential problems between your integration and our updated checkout.
